Uzbekistan, South Korea enhance inter-parliamentary cooperation

Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul visited the Parliament of the Republic of Korea.


At the meeting, issues of further intensification of inter-parliamentary interaction in the context of the coronavirus pandemic were discussed.
According to the leadership of the Parliamentary Diplomacy Division of the International Affairs and Protocol Bureau of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, a new composition of Korea – Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship Group is currently being formed, which will work on a systematic basis to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The parties also discussed issues of mutual support of candidates and initiatives of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea within the framework of international organizations, including the UN, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and other multilateral structures.
An agreement was reached on joint elaboration of bilateral measures to strengthen cooperation between inter-parliamentary groups.
The Korean side reaffirmed its commitment to further deepening interaction within the framework of international organizations, mutual support of the initiatives forwarded by the parties.
