Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Portugal (with a residence in Paris) Sardor Rustamov visited Lisbon, where he held a number of meetings with representatives of the Portuguese side.
In particular, the Ambassador met with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic, Álvaro Mendonça e Moura.
During the talks, the sides discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian spheres.
An agreement was reached on organizing the next round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries in the second half of 2020. The issue of establishing an intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation was considered. Pharmaceuticals, tourism, textile and leather industries were identified as promising areas of cooperation.
