Uzbekistan, Malaysia discuss cooperation issues in transport sector

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur Ravshan Usmanov held talks with the Minister of Transport of Malaysia Wee Ka Siong, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

Issues of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in air and rail transport, as well as training in this area were discussed during the conversation.
 
The Malaysian side was informed about large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at further development of transport communications, ensuring a high level of transport safety, improving management system in this area and training qualified industry specialists.
 
Issues of attracting Malaysia’s MASkargo air company to use services of airports in Tashkent and Navoi during cargo flights to Europe, as well as organization of joint training between Malaysia Aviation Academy and LLC Training Center at Uzbekistan Airways to improve the skills of pilots, air traffic controllers and other personnel were considered at the meeting.
 
The Malaysian side also noted the importance of developing cooperation in railway transport, including by establishing long-term partnership with SMH Rail to establish joint production and repair of rail equipment and create training centers for specialists in this field.
