On May 31, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received credentials from the newly appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary – Zurab Abdushelishvili of Georgia, Daniel Rosenblum of the United States and Kang Jae Kwoof the Republic of Korea.

The Head of the state sincerely congratulated ambassadors with the beginning of diplomatic activity in Uzbekistan and wished them great success in implementation of this honorable and responsible mission.

It was emphasized that in recent years Uzbekistan has been pursuing an active foreign policy aimed at expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners.

Evidence of this is strengthening relations and growing practical cooperation with Central Asian and the CIS countries, the leading countries of the American, Eurasian and African continents.

In addition, long-term partnership with authoritative international organizations and regional structures is deepening on the basis of roadmaps.

The President of Uzbekistan in his speech focused on prospects for multifaceted cooperation with the countries represented by the newly appointed ambassadors.

Satisfaction was expressed with modern dynamics of development of Uzbekistan – Georgia relations, primarily in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres. In recent years, inter-parliamentary contacts have also intensified.

The importance of promoting specific projects aimed at increasing the trade turnover with Georgia, strengthening cooperation in industry, transport, logistics and tourism was noted.

The President of Uzbekistan highly appreciated the achieved level of friendship and all-round cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States.

The historic high-level visit to the United States last May marked the beginning of a new era of strategic partnership between the two countries.

It was emphasized that today contacts and exchanges at all levels have intensified. The recent high-level visits to Uzbekistan of delegations led by the United States Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, Congressmen Trent Kelly and Vicente Gonzalez, Mississippi Governor Phillip Bryant and others have been fruitful.

Mutually beneficial cooperation with leading American companies and banks is expanding, cultural and humanitarian ties are being strengthened, a constructive dialogue is being carried out in developing civil society and ensuring human rights, as well as on current issues of the international and regional agenda.

The Head of the state noted with deep satisfaction the achievement of a level of special strategic partnership relations with the Republic of Korea.

The state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in to Uzbekistan last month brought bilateral relations to a higher level, enriching them with new concrete content.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan firmly supports the consistent policy of the leadership of the Republic of Korea to strengthen peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

Main attention was paid to practical implementation of the agreements reached, timely preparation and qualitative implementation of joint programs and projects in innovation and investment, transport and communications, modernization of infrastructure, education, healthcare, culture and other areas.

In conclusion, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that the newly appointed ambassadors, through their active diplomatic activities, would make a worthy contribution to further strengthening of friendship, partnership and multifaceted cooperation.

In turn, the ambassadors once again expressed deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and assured that they would make every effort to ensure consistent development of fruitful interstate relations for the benefit of our countries and peoples.
