On March 29, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser Bin Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
The current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as international and regional policy issues, were discussed at the meeting
The parties noted that there is a significant potential for the development of Uzbekistan – Kuwait relations, giving them a multifaceted character.
Special attention was paid to priorities of development of relations in trade-economic and investment sphere, attracting financial resources of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and other investors for implementation of important socio-economic and infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan. The parties agreed to implement social projects in the Aral Sea region.
Mutual interest in diversification of transport corridors linking Central Asia with the Middle East was also noted. In this regard, the relevance of Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Oman transport corridor was noted.
Views on other issues on the joint agenda were also exchanged at the meeting.
The Ambassador of Kuwait Ahmad Khaled Abdullah al-Jeeran attended the meeting.
