On June 25, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ghana with a residence in Tehran, Sayuti Yahaya Iddi.
Accepting the credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to Uzbekistan and wished him fruitful work.
The current state and prospects of development of relations in bilateral and multilateral formats were discussed at the meeting.
The parties noted with satisfaction the successful cooperation within the framework of adoption of the UN General Assembly special resolution “Enlightenment and Religious Tolerance” in December 2018, which Ghana not only supported but also co-authored the document initiated by Uzbekistan.
Interest inactivation of Uzbekistan – Ghana relations and continuation of the practice of cooperation within the framework of international organizations, especially the UN was confirmed at the meeting.
