Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatilla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany Gunter Overfeld.
Current issues of Uzbekistan – Germany cooperation on the Afghan issue were discussed at the meeting.
The Ambassador informed about the decision of the Government of Germany to start practical implementation of joint projects with Uzbekistan on training personnel in healthcare sector based on the Educational Center for training of Afghanistan citizens in Termez.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties also discussed practical issues of preparation for Uzbekistan – Germany Business Forum in October 2019 in Tashkent, within the framework of which it is planned to organize Uzbekistan – Germany – Afghanistan meeting in Termez for establishing contacts and enhancing cooperation in trilateral format.
Other issues of joint participation in socio-economic revival of Afghanistan, primarily in trade-economic, transport-communication spheres were also considered at the meeting.
