TASHKENT, February 22. /“Dunyo” IA/. The personal participation and landmark speech of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, respected Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the High-Level Segment of the UN Human Rights Council became another vivid confirmation of the recognition by the entire world community of the effective results of large-scale democratic reforms and transformations carried out in our republic, said the International Institute for Central Asia Director Anvar Nasirov, commenting for “Dunyo” IA on the just concluded speech of the Head of our state.

“In his speech, the Leader of Uzbekistan put forward a number of important initiatives of an international and regional nature, which practically cover all mechanisms for ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of each person, existing problems and ways to solve them.

I would like to especially note that the development of multifaceted cooperation in Central Asia is also aimed at creating conditions for the promotion of generally recognized norms and principles of international law, including in the field of human rights.

In this regard, two important initiatives outlined by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in this direction deserve special attention. First of all, strengthening the mechanism of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asia, that was created last year. In addition, a proposal to establish a Regional Council for Self-Realization of People with Disabilities has been made.

I believe that close cooperation with our partners - brotherly neighboring states - in the implementation of these initiatives will create a unique model of regional interaction, which will become an example for the entire international community on the path to ensuring and realizing the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of each person”.
