Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan hosted the 18th meeting of the Council of Heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS Member States, via videoconference.
The meeting with participation of the Heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS Member States and ambassadors was chaired by the Chairman of the Council of the Heads of the Chambers of the CIS Member States, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Adkham Ikramov.
The participants noted that cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS Member States serves the economic growth of these countries. The importance of the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on holding the Business Initiatives Week and events under its auspices aimed at strengthening and increasing the economic activity of the CIS countries was noted.
It was emphasized that the work of the Council is aimed at cooperation in business and establishment of a direct dialogue on the scale of the Heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry. This makes a great contribution to creating a platform for discussing issues related to creating a comfortable environment for doing business.
Participants of the event paid special attention to the development of trade, economic and interregional cooperation between the business circles of the CIS countries, the issues of mitigating the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economies of the CIS member states. They also discussed mutually beneficial cooperation in holding fairs and exhibitions in 2021.
Following the meeting, the final decision of the 18th meeting of the Council of Heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS Member States was signed, according to which the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS Member States is planned to be held in Dushanbe in 2021.
