On October 16, 2018, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Nasir Ahmad Andisha who arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit, in Termez.
The sides discussed practical aspects of implementation of agreements reached within the framework of Uzbekistan – Afghanistan contacts at the highest level, as well as current issues on bilateral agenda, exchanged views on regional issues.
Nasir Ahmad Andisha on behalf of Afghanistan leadership sincerely thanked the Uzbek side for assistance to socio-economic development of Afghanistan, prompt resolution of issues related to establishment of Consulate General of Afghanistan in Termez city.
Uzbekistan and Afghanistan delegations attended the official opening ceremony of Consulate General of Afghanistan in the regional centre.
Ambassador of Afghanistan Sayed Shahabuddin Timory attended the meeting.
