KUALA-LUMPUR, April 29. /“Dunyo” IA/. Professor of School of Applied Physics, Faculty of Science & Technology, National University of Malaysia Dato’ Dr Mohd Yusof Hj Othman in an interview with “Dunyo” Information Agency commended Uzbekistan’s efforts to develop energy efficient housing.

“Uzbekistan’s initiative on developing energy-saving houses goes in line with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) launched by United Nations in 2015 to address the issues of poverty, hunger and climate change by the year 2030.

This idea is in line with contemporary world development and emphasize sustainable development that relies not only on one source of energy such as fossil fuels, but uses a diverse source for sustainable approaches. The development of energy efficient-housing and energy-saving building material not only reduces environmental hazard, but also lowers dependence on fossil fuels.

We are proud that this initiative was not only well supported and planned by the Ministry of Construction of Uzbekistan through the Decree of the President dated November 14, 2018, but also received assistance from the international community such as United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Environment Fund (GIF). We hope this excellent plan can serve as a model for other developing countries to follow,” said Professor Othman.
