Issues of creating a scientific and educational institution in advanced technologies in Uzbekistan discussed with the South Korean side

SEOUL, November 19. /Dunyo IA/. Yesterday, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in South Korea organized negotiations between the Chairman of the Board of Uzeltechsanoat Association Mirziyod Yunusov and Director of KAIST Center for Overseas Development, Professor Won Joon Kim, via videoconference, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

During the negotiations, views were exchanged on the possibility of establishing cooperation with KAIST in creation of a scientific and educational institution in Uzbekistan, the main directions of which are cooperation in educational, scientific, technical and industrial spheres; establishing cooperation with foreign education and research organizations; as well as providing effective methodological, information, consulting, scientific and educational support to the industry.

Mirziyod Yunusov presented to the South Korean side a detailed overview of the electrical industry of Uzbekistan, information on implemented investment projects, including with leading South Korean companies, prospects and priority areas for development of this sphere.

Won Joon Kim also acquainted the Uzbek part with the activities of KAIST, including the difference from higher education institutions.

Following the discussions, the parties reached an agreement to begin an active process of studying the concept of the project proposed by the Uzbek side, as well as, if necessary, continue negotiations via videoconference.
