The event organized jointly with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, the State Committee for Family and Women, Andijan Regional Hokimiyat and Andijan Machine-Building Institute, aimed at ensuring the fulfillment of the tasks defined in the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the protection of women from harassment and violence”, the Presidential Resolution “On measures to further strengthen guarantees of labor rights and support women's entrepreneurship” of March 7, 2019, was attended by representatives of the regional administration, the Association of Women Scientists “Olima”, advisers to rectors of higher education institutions on women's issues, specialists from Switzerland.
Gender issues, activities carried out in this direction in Uzbekistan, especially in higher education institutions, and international experience were discussed in detail at the workshop.
The event was attended by professors from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), who expressed their opinion on the ongoing work to ensure gender equality in higher education institutions of Uzbekistan, shared the Swiss experience. Reports of foreign women scientists were heard.
