In the footsteps of Ibn Battuta: A project about Uzbekistan launched

Through the eyes of photographer Yan Bighetti de Flogny, the Al-Safar team conveys what a Berber traveler’s journey could be like today.

 

One of the last stops of a three-year expedition to 38 countries became Uzbekistan – one of the most important checkpoints of the famous Silk Road. The shooting was organized with the support of Uzbekistan National Film Commission and the State Committee for Tourism Development.

 

In the footsteps of Ibn Battuta – an art research project developed with UNESCO, the Misk Art Institute and National Geographic, recreating the journey of the legendary 14th-century traveler Ibn Battuta.
