Implementation of technical cooperation projects in the Aral Sea region discussed in Thailand

BANGKOK, November 19. /Dunyo IA/. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Bangkok has held a meeting with the Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) Pattarat Hongthong, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The parties discussed the program of joint events and agreed to adopt a roadmap for development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and TICA for 2021.

One of its priority areas will be the promotion of technical cooperation projects in the Aral Sea region, including the introduction of innovative ways of agricultural development, supporting small and medium-sized businesses by supplying modern equipment for packaging dried fruits on a preferential basis, as well as expanding the number of scholarship holders for short-term study programs and master’s courses in Thailand from among young professionals from Karakalpakstan, Khorezm and other regions.

Following the meeting, agreements were reached on sending the TICA expert mission to the Aral Sea zone in early 2021 to study and identify problems and needs, as well as research and analyze the situation on the spot.
