– First of all, I would like to congratulate the sincere and hospitable people of Uzbekistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the 31st Anniversary of your country’s independence. I would like to thank the organizers for holding this forum at a high level. We highly appreciate the hospitality and tolerance of Uzbekistan people.
All themes on the agenda are extremely relevant and significant. The main goal of the summit is to prioritize the activities of parliaments on gender equality and women’s empowerment to effectively ensure stability and prosperity, taking into account the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated crisis.
The first session of the summit was productive and informative. During it, the complications caused by the pandemic, as well as interaction and exchange of experience in combating them, were discussed.
Friendly relations between our countries are strong. Thanks to this summit, we have learned even more about the reforms and big changes in your country. It should be noted that such forums are of great importance in enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan. This event made it possible to get acquainted with the activities of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, exchange experience and analyze achievements.
I would like to note the activity of women in the political process of Uzbekistan. This is evidenced by a large number of women senators and deputies working in the chambers of the Oliy Majlis.
Today’s event will contribute to further enhancing parliamentary cooperation. We still have a lot to do in this area. In particular, it is necessary to be active in expanding women’s entrepreneurship. To do this, we must organize a meeting of women entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Russia, develop relations between our parliaments.
