Tashkent to host a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO Member States

On July 28-29, Tashkent will host a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The event will be attended by the foreign ministers of the SCO member states, as well as the SCO Secretary-General and the Director of the RATS Executive Committee.

The main attention at the meeting will be paid to the preparation of the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States in Samarkand on September 15-16, 2022.

Documents for the next SCO Summit are expected to be approved.

Among them, developed at the initiative of the Uzbek side, are the drafts of the Comprehensive Plan for the Implementation of the Treaty on Long-term Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, the Concept of Cooperation for the Development of Connectivity and the Creation of Efficient Transport Corridors, the Program for Stimulating Industrial Cooperation between Business Circles, the Regulations on the honorary title “SCO Goodwill Ambassador” and others.

Received applications for obtaining the status of a member state, an observer state and a dialogue partner of the SCO will be considered.

The ministers will also discuss the current state and prospects for developing cooperation in various areas of the SCO’s activities, expanding its institutional ties with international partners.

The participants of the meeting will exchange views on the current issues of the regional and global agenda.
