Tashkent hosts the First Meeting of the “Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan – Türkiye” Dialogue

TASHKENT, August 3. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Tashkent hosted the First Meeting of “Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan – Türkiye” Dialogue. It was attended by the heads of ministries of the three countries responsible for foreign policy, trade, economy and transport issues, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov noted that this meeting is more relevant than ever, taking into account international relations and processes in the global economy.

It was emphasized that the meaningful dialogue established between the heads of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye serves as a decisive factor in the development of relations based on the principles of high trust, mutual respect and support.

At the forum, the participants focused on further strengthening strategic partnership in regional and international politics, trade, economy, investment and transport.

In the last five years, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan has increased seven times, and with Türkiye – two and a half times. The hope was expressed for the continuation of this positive tradition.

“The achieved indicator of economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye does not yet correspond to the existing potential”, Vladimir Norov noted. – Meanwhile, there are all conditions for the full use of the partnership.

The importance of using the transit potential of the Baku – Tbilisi – Kars railway for the countries was unanimously approved.

At the meeting, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the Azerbaijani side supports and is ready to actively put forward such a platform based on common views and mutual respect.

“The cooperation of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Türkiye is linked by a common history and culture”, Jeyhun Bayramov noted. – This situation will contribute to the further development of trilateral strategic ties.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu drew attention to the fact that Asia and Europe are a huge trading platform and that the countries should be at the center of this commercial flow.

“The middle corridor and transit routes through the Caspian Sea are distinguished by economic efficiency and security”, the Foreign Minister of Türkiye noted. – The restoration of the ancient and extremely important trade line – the Great Silk Road will further unite the Turkic world.

At the meeting, proposals and initiatives were developed to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in various directions.

Following the meeting, the Tashkent Declaration was adopted.
