Enhancing multifaceted cooperation discussed with Afghanistan delegation in MIFT

TASHKENT, February 2. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has met with Afghanistan delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Haneef Atmar and Head of the Administration of the President, Mohammad Shaker Kargar, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to MIFT, the agenda included the current issues of political, investment, trade and economic, transport, logistics, financial and technical cooperation between the two countries.

The parties voiced their readiness to intensify interaction for increasing the degree of Afghanistan’s involvement in the conjuncture of economic relations in Central Asia.

Priority tasks for the implementation of cooperation projects in energy, trade and infrastructure development were discussed. In this context, further joint actions were agreed upon at the earliest start of work within the framework of the construction of Surkhan – Puli-Khumri power transmission line.

Particular attention was paid to the issues related to holding the first meeting of the High-Level Trilateral Working Group on the implementation of Mazar-i-Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar railway construction project.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to accelerate the joint elaboration of the roadmap to deepen cooperation in trade, economic, transport, logistics and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
