The roadmap on the priorities of attracting foreign investment in the Aral Sea region approved

TASHKENT, January 28. /Dunyo IA/. It is planned to create driver clusters in the Aral Sea region for technological innovations, including the introduction of effective methods of ecosystem management, in particular, new technologies that save natural resources, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Norma.uz portal, this measure is envisaged in the Concept for the transformation of the Aral Sea region into a zone of environmental innovations and technologies, which was approved on January 25 by the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The document was developed as part of the implementation of the Presidential Resolution of July 29, 2021 “On measures to implement a special resolution of the United Nations General Assembly of May 18, 2021 “On declaring the Aral Sea region a zone of environmental innovation and technology”.

The resolution also approved the Multilateral Roadmap on the priorities of attracting foreign investment in the Aral Sea region for 2022-2026.

In addition to creating “driver” clusters, the Concept includes the development and implementation of economic and financial innovations, the formation of market and price mechanisms necessary to stimulate technological innovation and the creation of green jobs, as well as the implementation of innovation policy and legal innovations, including mitigation of climate change risks, agricultural and green economic strategies, land reforms that encourage landowner investment.

The Roadmap contains priorities for the implementation of measures for the integrated development of the Aral Sea region in 2022-2026, measures to expand international cooperation for the sustainable development of the Aral Sea region and monitor the implementation of programs and projects, as well as a list of projects aimed at sustainable development of the Aral Sea region.
