The export of agricultural products from Uzbekistan to Russia increases by more than 50%

On September 1-2, within the framework of the visit of the Government delegation of Uzbekistan to Russia, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjayev held several meetings and talks in Moscow with members of the Russian Government, during which the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as deepening interaction in transport and agriculture.

According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, on September 1, during the talks with Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, a joint analysis of the possibilities of increasing the supply of demanded products of Uzbek manufacturers to the Russian market, including textile, electrical household products and building materials, was carried out. In addition, the progress of the implementation of joint investment projects, which ensure the expansion of industrial cooperation between the enterprises of the two countries, was considered in detail.

During the talks with Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, issues of trade and economic cooperation were discussed. The main attention was paid to the expansion of investment interaction, the strengthening of cooperative ties in industry and the development of international transport and logistics communications in Central Asia.

At the meeting with the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, issues of increasing mutual supplies of products with high added value, enhancing interregional interaction and other issues of the current cooperation agenda between Uzbekistan and Russia were discussed.
