With the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy, a videoconference has been held with participation of the President of Il Santuccio Association, Leonardo Comucci, representatives of the Italian companies Frescobaldi, Tecnovite e Casadei Group, Oenological Consultant.
From the Uzbek side the videoconference was attended by the Director of the Agency for Development of Viticulture and Winemaking of Uzbekistan Rakhimjon Babayev, representatives of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade and the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investment.
Rakhimjon Babayev presented detailed information on the country’s potential in winemaking. Cooperation of local enterprises Bagizagan and Shohrud with the Italian company Della Toffola was noted as examples of successful interaction, within the framework of which high-tech equipment for bottling wine, olive and other types of oils was supplied to Uzbekistan.
Frescobaldi representative Giuseppe Pariani noted that he was impressed by the high rates of economic development in Uzbekistan. He noted the interest of his company in cooperation with Uzbekistan partners covering the entire cycle of activities – from planting seedlings to growing grapes and producing finished products.
President of Oenological Consultant, Alfonso Baldetti has expressed interest in implementing similar projects in Uzbekistan. Taking into account the tourism potential of the country, he also announced his readiness to organize and develop wine tourism.
Participants of the meeting agreed to develop several teaser projects for their implementation in Uzbekistan, as well as to organize a visit to Italy of a delegation of the Agency for Development of Viticulture and Winemaking of Uzbekistan in October.
