Ambassador of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fazilov met with the head of the Japanese part of the committee secretariat, Miki Wajima, and Senior Advisor of the International Division of Mitsubishi Corporation, Hirokazu Saito.
Taking into account the current circumstances and restrictive measures related to the spread of the coronavirus, the possibilities of holding the next meeting via videoconference, as well as issues of promoting the implementation of joint investment projects were discussed.
Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to work out the organization of an additional virtual meeting of the secretariats of Uzbekistan – Japan and Japan – Uzbekistan committees for economic cooperation. In addition, an agreement was reached on working out the conduction of the next meeting in Tashkent by the end of the first quarter of 2021.
