TASHKENT, July 6. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov has met with the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Khusrav Noziri, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the 7th meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the ECO member countries in Tashkent, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, a high assessment was given to the systematic work carried out by the Uzbek side within the framework of the chairmanship of the association. The Secretary General expressed his readiness to take an active part in the implementation of all initiatives announced by the President of Uzbekistan during the Ashgabat Summit of the organization in November 2021.
The parties discussed organizational and conceptual aspects of preparation for the upcoming events, including the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the ECO member countries in Tashkent.
At the meeting, proposals were considered to increase cooperation within the framework of the ECO in trade, investment, food security, agriculture, transport corridors and others.
The parties exchanged views on the current issues of international and regional politics. The main attention was paid to the situation in Afghanistan, the intensification of this country’s participation in the activities of the ECO and its integration into interregional economic processes. Khusrav Noziri confirmed his participation in the International Conference on Afghanistan to be held on 25-26 July 2022 in Tashkent.
