Exports of Uzbekistan products to the European market to increase in 2023

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting on the issues of increasing exports to European countries and expanding the range of goods in 2023.

The event, chaired by Vladimir Norov, was attended by heads of responsible ministries, industry enterprises, heads of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan in Europe.

As noted, for the timely and high-quality implementation of the tasks planned for increasing exports to European countries in 2023, including through the effective use of the GSP+ capabilities, it is necessary to ensure close interdepartmental coordination and interaction. Mr. Norov noted the importance of consolidating efforts and existing opportunities to achieve the goals. He focused on the need for developing specific proposals to increase the volume of exports of industrial products to European countries by 0 million and the range of goods up to 600 items.

Specific initiatives were made by the heads of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry D.Vakhobov, the associations Uztuqimachiliksanoat I.Khaydarov, Uzcharmsanoat F. Boboyev, Director of the Agency for Technical Regulation D. Sattorov. Ambassadors of Uzbekistan to European countries, via videoconference, expressed their proposals for enhancing trade in the regions. Ambassadors of Uzbekistan to Germany, Latvia, Italy and Poland shared opportunities to attract European partners to strengthen the potential of domestic exporters in certification and standardization, marketing, training, e-commerce.

Views were exchanged on the existing problems and obstacles on the way to further increase the volume of exports of domestic products to the European market.

Following the event, an agreement was reached on formation of an interdepartmental working group and the development of a roadmap, including specific tasks, mechanisms and deadlines for implementation.
