Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan meets with the British experts

TASHKENT, July 11. /“Dunyo” IA/. The Institute of Foreign Development hosted a round table meeting of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov with the British expert circles in London, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Uzbekistan MIFT, the event was attended by representatives of the analytical centers such as Chatham House, Prism and Bourse & Bazaar Foundation as well as the International Institute for Strategic Studies, Belgrave Europe Agency for Strategic Communications, Dentons law firm, Cambridge Forum of Central Asia, Henry Jacksons Society public organization, as well as UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Ms Asthana.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects for Uzbekistan's political and socio-economic development were discussed in line with the progress achieved in building a civil society, improving the legal environment, stimulating the economic development and strengthening the country's external relations at the regional and global levels.

Expert circles noted the important role of Uzbekistan in building good-neighborly relations in Central Asia, the countries of which in recent years has been consistently deepening intra-regional political, economic, transport, cultural and humanitarian partnership.

Over the course of the meeting, the participants also touched upon the topic of constitutional reform in Uzbekistan. Opinions were raised that the updated Constitution in Uzbekistan will create a legal basis for the long-term development of the country, taking into account key national priorities, as well as improve the efficiency of the public administration system.

Following the event, the parties noted the relevance of holding such discussions on a regular basis in order to communicate information about the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan among British society, expert and business circles.
