“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov met with the Chief of the Europe and Central Asia Section at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Hulan Tsedev, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties considered the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and OHCHR.
OHCHR representatives were informed about the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years, including in the democratization of society, ensuring human rights, freedoms and interests.
The parties discussed issues of strengthening Uzbekistan's cooperation with the UN treaty bodies and special procedures.
Views were exchanged on enhancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and OHCHR, including by providing expert and advisory assistance in implementing the recommendations of the UN treaty bodies, as well as in preparing the national report of the country within the framework of the fourth cycle of the Universal Periodic Review.
