Culture, religious traditions and customs of the Central Asian peoples

Online conference of IRCICA (Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture) and the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan has taken place with participation of representatives of the International Research Center named after Imam Bukhari (Samarkand) on “Culture, religious traditions and customs of the Central Asian peoples”.

The conference was opened by Professor Shuhrat Yovqochev, First Vice-Rector for Coordination of Religious and Enlightenment Activities of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan.
 
Participants of the event highly appreciated the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, including in education and ensuring freedom of conscience, restoring the age-old values and traditions of Mawarannahr people. Views and experience were exchanged in these areas.
 
It was noted that the peoples of Central Asia, the cradle of great scientists, who contributed to world civilization, have always given priority to the upbringing of an “ideal person”. A striking example of this is the legacy of great scientists and military leaders, who were born and raised on this earth”.
 
Participants emphasized the importance of preserving and increasing the rich spiritual heritage of their ancestors, protecting the ideals of tolerance and humanity of Islam, protecting it from various attacks and destructive approaches.
 
Following the event, an agreement was reached on the continuation and further development of active cooperation with IRCICA in these areas.
