GENEVA, November 2. /“Dunyo” IA/. At the headquarters of the UN Office in Geneva, Uzbekistan’s diplomatic mission organized an exposition of cultural heritage and national cuisine and a presentation of the tourism potential of the country, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The event took place within the framework of the Bazaar 2021 Festival held annually under the auspices of the UN.
Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva Tatiana Valovaya, heads and employees of the diplomatic corps, representatives of public, political and business circles of Switzerland, international organizations and local media visited the national stand of Uzbekistan.
Tatiana Valovaya highly appreciated the rich historical heritage of Uzbekistan, as well as the demonstrated items of folk applied products and traditional cuisine.
The participants of the festival got acquainted with the works of Uzbek craftsmen, various types of national clothes, fabrics, souvenirs and ceramics. They received information about the tourism opportunities in Uzbekistan and the measures taken by the country’s government to develop this industry.
According to the results of the assessment of visitors and participating states of Bazaar 2021, the national stand of Uzbekistan took second place among 70 countries participating in the event.
