As part of the International Cultural Night held at the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation in Malaysia, a presentation was organized to emphasize the cultural, educational, and tourism potential of Uzbekistan

The event welcomed over 500 guests, including officials from Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education, university representatives, professors, students, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Kuala Lumpur, and coordinators of the World Association of Youth of Uzbekistan.

Attendees were provided with detailed information on Uzbekistan's large-scale reforms and comprehensive measures in higher education and tourism. Videos featuring the sacred sites of Bukhara, Samarkand, Khorezm regions, and Tashkent city were screened.

During the presentation, it was noted that citizens from over 90 foreign countries, including Malaysia, can travel to Uzbekistan visa-free. Additionally, direct flights between Tashkent and Kuala Lumpur, operated by Uzbekistan Airways and Batik Air Malaysia, are available five times a week. These developments were emphasized as key factors in fostering closer ties between the two nations, increasing tourism flows, and further strengthening mutual trust and cooperation.

Guests were also introduced to Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage and traditional dance art, including the Khorezmian Lazgi dance, which, along with Uzbek national costumes, is included in UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. A crafts exhibition featured traditional silk, textiles, and artisan goods.

In an interview with Dunyo IA, Muhammad Ali, a representative of the Asia Pacific University, stated:

"I am delighted that we are hosting this cultural and educational event, where representatives from over 30 countries have shared their rich cultures and traditions.

Our university has established partnerships with higher education institutions in Uzbekistan in areas such as information communications, digital technologies, and cybersecurity. Currently, Uzbek students are actively studying at our university and have participated in this event.

Through this occasion, we have had the opportunity to learn about the rich culture, history, traditions, and customs of the Uzbek people. The potential of Uzbekistan's pilgrimage tourism was particularly fascinating to the participants. We are pleased to see that the facilities and tourist infrastructure in Uzbekistan are being renewed for visitors. I plan to visit the land of Imam Bukhari in 2025.

I believe that such events will further expand cooperation between Uzbekistan and Malaysia in culture, higher education, and tourism".
