TASHKENT, April 17. /“Dunyo” IA/. As of January 1, 2022, the number of museums operating in Uzbekistan was 127, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the State Statistics Committee, there were 88 museums in the country in 2000, 105 in 2010 and 105 in 2020.
Most of the museums in the country are located in Tashkent (30), Bukhara (19), Fergana (17), Samarkand (13), Kashkadarya (10), Surkhandarya (8), Jizzakh (7), Navoi (6), Tashkent (5), Khorezm (3), Andijan (2), Namangan (2), Syrdarya (1) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (4).
