An exhibition dedicated to Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage opens at the world-famous Japanese Miho Museum

The exhibition “Connection of Civilizations: From Ancient Central Asia to East Asia” opened at the world-famous Japanese Miho Museum.

The exhibition presents over 130 objects belonging to the Bactrian-Margian archaeological complex, demonstrating the ancient connectivity of Central and East Asia, and in particular, the unique role of the Sogdians.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan Mukhsinkhoja Abdurakhmanov expressed gratitude to the museum administration for organizing this exhibition and noted that such events are of great importance for the development of cultural and humanitarian relations between the two countries, in particular, friendly relations between the two peoples.

It was also noted with satisfaction that this year Uzbekistan and Japan are widely celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 20th anniversary of strategic ties. The two countries are developing relations in all areas based on the principles of mutual trust, respect and interest.

Miho Museum Director Isao Kumakura expressed satisfaction with the organization of such a large-scale exhibition dedicated to the cultural heritage of Central Asia, after a 3-year break due to the situation related to the coronavirus, and hope that thanks to this event, interest in Uzbekistan and its history in Japan will increase more.

The exhibition will run until December 11 this year.
