Crime combating on the territory of the CIS under discussion

The delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan attended the regular Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs of the CIS Member States, which was held in Saint Petersburg.

In addition to Uzbekistan, the meeting was attended by delegations from the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Russia, as well as the Director of the Bureau for the Coordination of the Fight Against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crime on the Territory of the CIS, the Head of the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States and representatives of the CIS Executive Committee.

Priority issues of cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the CIS countries, as well as the implementation of interstate programs in combating crime, were discussed at the event.

The talks covered several key areas, including the enhancement of partnership effectiveness in forensic expertise, the advancement of data exchange for investigating crimes related to information and communication technologies, the provision of training in higher and additional education programs focused on road safety, and cooperation in combating illegal migration.

Following the meeting, the heads of the delegations signed the adopted decisions and the minutes of the meeting.

The event also included bilateral meetings between the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.

The sides exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation in law enforcement, including in the fight against transnational organized crime, terrorism, drug trafficking, and crimes in the information technology. The prospects of cooperation in personnel training and advanced training were also considered.

The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. An agreement was reached to develop contacts at the institutional level and implement joint projects focused on practical results.
