KUALA LUMPUR, April 2. /“Dunyo” IA/. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov met with the leadership of Albukhary Foundation and the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia – IAMM, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The Malaysian side highly appreciated the large-scale reforms in the education and religious enlightenment in Uzbekistan, the initiatives being implemented to study and promote the spiritual and intellectual heritage of the country.
Following the talks, agreements were reached on establishing cooperation with the Center for Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan and Imam Bukhari International Research Center, intensifying ties with the International Islamic Academy, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies in joint research and educational projects with Al-Bukhari International University.
The Malaysian side expressed readiness to participate in the project “Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections” of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, as well as the publication of a special album about artifacts and objects of material and artistic culture related to the history of Central Asia and stored in the Islamic Arts Museum.
The parties also agreed to hold a special exhibition of facsimiles of miniatures “Zafarname” in 2022 about the life and work of Amir Temur, stored in the museum, together with the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.
It is also planned to hold an exhibition on “Uzbekistan – the Center of Islamic Culture” at the Islamic Arts Museum in Kuala Lumpur in 2022-2023 in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the Committee on Religious Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The Malaysian side confirmed its readiness to allocate educational grants to gifted students from low-income families of Uzbekistan for undergraduate studies at Al-Bukhari International University for the 2022-2023 academic year, organizing a visit of representatives of Albukhary Foundation to Uzbekistan this year.
