Active cooperation serves common interests

Online meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Group on Cooperation between the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan has taken place on September 23.

The event was attended by deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, members of the Senate, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhonov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev.
 
The sides noted the strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in public, economic and social spheres, as well as the need for effectively using the Parliament's capabilities to raise cooperation to a new level.
 
Participants also focused on development of inter-parliamentary dialogue, support for each other within the framework of international organizations, strengthening cooperation in trade-economic, political-legal, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
 
The sides expressed their readiness to continue mutually beneficial inter-parliamentary cooperation in many areas.
 
The need was noted for joining the efforts in order to prevent the impact of the negative consequences of the pandemic on trade-economic relations between the two countries.
 
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in studying prospects in lawmaking.
