Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with the President of Turkey

On August 6, 2019, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov, who arrived in Ankara at the head of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan to attend the first meeting of the bilateral Joint Strategy Planning Group, co-chaired by the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries and the XI Turkish Ambassadors Conference, was received by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

 

The Minister conveyed warm greetings and best wishes of the President of Uzbekistan to the President and fraternal people of Turkey.
 
For his part, Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised the state and prospects of the bilateral strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkey, emphasized the key role of the initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the process of bringing relations between the two countries and people to a new level.
 
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, at the meeting, views were exchanged on the progress of practical implementation of the agreements reached within high-level contacts based on the results of the meetings of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the Joint Strategy Planning Group, other aspects of the bilateral agenda were considered, including the schedule of the main joint events.
 
Particular attention has been paid to the preparatory process for the upcoming first meeting of the Supreme Council of the strategic partnership under the chairmanship of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkey.
 
It was noted that regular Uzbekistan – Turkey dialogue at the highest level, the atmosphere of trust, mutual respect and consideration of interests of each other created by the efforts of presidents of the two countries are a reliable basis for further promotion of interstate cooperation.
