A Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO Member States kicks off in Tashkent

Tashkent hosts a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States.

The meeting, chaired by Uzbekistan, is attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the SCO Member States, as well as National coordinators, international experts, heads of various ministries, agencies and honored guests.

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov addressed the meeting.

This meeting is the final stage of preparation for the summit, to be held in Samarkand on September 15-16, 2022.

It was noted that to date, more than 70 major events, including 15 ministerial conferences, have been held jointly with partners under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan. These efforts are aimed at fully unlocking the enormous potential of multilateral partnership at the new stage of the SCO's development.

“These meetings serve to develop practical interaction in such promising areas as industrial cooperation, interregional trade, mutual transport connectivity, innovation, poverty reduction, digital transformation and green economy”, Vladimir Norov stressed.

By the program, reports of foreign ministers of the participating countries are heard.
