/«Dunyo» IA/. On February 7, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during a telephone conversation, warmly congratulated the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the successful holding of early presidential elections in the country, reports "Dunyo" IA correspondent.
According to the press service of the Head of state, emphasizing the high turnout and activity of voters, the President of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that the fraternal Azerbaijani people made the right choice, casting their vote for the state’s future, for a strong and prosperous Azerbaijan.
During the conversation, current issues of further developing strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the full-scale implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
The positive dynamics of developing trade and economic cooperation were noted with satisfaction. Trade turnover last year increased by 30 percent. A joint investment company has begun operating. Cooperation projects in the automotive, electrical, textile, agricultural, tourism, and other industries are in the active phase of implementation.
Views were exchanged on interaction issues within international structures, including the Organization of Turkic States. The schedule of the upcoming events was reviewed.
