On January 17, 2019, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Furkat Sidikov met with the Senior Expert of the Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (COMSTECH) Khurshid Hasanain and COMSTECH Adviser Qasim Jan.
At the meeting, representatives of the international organization highly appreciated the effectiveness of domestic reforms of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at strengthening scientific-technical potential of the country, supporting activities of scientific-academic circles, as well as creating necessary conditions for development and popularization of applied sciences in the country.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to preparations for the Second OIC Summit on Science and Technology in 2020, in Uzbekistan.
On behalf of COMSTECH Secretariat, readiness was expressed to assist the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan in organizing an International Robоtics Olympiad in Tashkent, including acting as a co-organizer of this event. COMSTECH also supports the initiative of Uzbekistan regarding the placement of one of the six high-performance computer centers in Uzbekistan.
In conclusion, COMSTECH representatives invited Uzbek partners to take part in the following events:
– International scientific workshop on “Genome change and other new technologies for animal breeding to ensure global food security”;
– International Conference on restoration of historical monuments. Organizers of this event attach great importance to possible participation of Uzbekistan specialists in this event, taking into account their invaluable experience in this field;
– Scientific conference of rectors of leading universities of the OIC member states.
