An event dedicated to the presentation of the project was held in Termez. It was attended by responsible persons of ministries and agencies in education, medical, social sectors, and experts.
The social services project provided for children, youth and families in mahallas of Surkhandarya region is designed for 18 months. The European Union allocated billion for its implementation. UNICEF, together with the relevant bodies of ministries and agencies, plans to cover 35,000 people. The main attention will be paid to migration issues, the problems of children, youth and families who were forced to move from Afghanistan and found themselves in difficult living conditions. Opportunities for the use of social and legal assistance services, inclusive education will be expanded.
“Social service models have been developed for the effective implementation of the project in mahallas”, says Dilshoda Mirzajanova, Department Head at the State Committee for Family and Women. – This model will be introduced in Surkhandarya region. Republican, regional, district and city offices for monitoring have been created. Women activists are studying the situation of families, their needs for social services, sending requests to relevant organizations and institutions to resolve issues.
The work within the framework of the project and the predicted results were presented at the event.
