The National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi hosted a literary and educational meeting "Independence - our basis and powerful foundation", dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the proclamation of the sovereignty of the motherland.


The participants - intellectuals, specialists of information and library institutions of the Ministry of Education and readers. They talked about the conquest of a new time and a prominent statesmen, public figures and thinkers, who in previous years have fought for the freedom of their native land, have given their lives for the highest ideals. Commander of the Order "El-yurt Hurmati" Honored Worker of Science of Uzbekistan Naim Karimov, famous director Honored Artist Zulfikar Musakov and other guests noted that the celebration of independence and honoring the victims of repression are not only the restoration of historical truth and fairness, the exaltation of heroism selfless sons and daughters our people, but also the education of patriotism and respect for them in the hearts and minds of compatriots, especially young people. The evening ended with the performance of family musical ensemble "Havas" - winner of the Presidential Award "Nihol" Kahramon Gulomjonov and winners of international competitions Dostonbeka and Robiyahon Gulomjonovs.

The results of the photo contest "Yurtim jamoli", dedicated to the 24th anniversary of independence, have been summed up. Galina Skosyrskaya, Tatiana Leshenko and Askar Yakubov became winners of the contest.
