Uzbekistan, Egypt to hold Intergovernmental Commission Meeting for Development of Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation

TASHKENT, January 29. /“Dunyo” IA/. On January 27, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan Amira Fahmy, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the meeting was dedicated to a comprehensive discussion of the current state of Uzbekistan – Egypt relations in politics, trade, investment, transport, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as priority areas of interaction for their further expansion.

The parties agreed to begin a joint study of the creation of Uzbekistan – Egypt Business Council with the participation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, as well as private sector companies of the two countries.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold the next meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission for the Development of Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in Tashkent, within the framework of which it is planned to organize a business forum and G2B, B2B meetings.

The parties also agreed to develop and approve a joint roadmap for the implementation of the agreed events, indicating specific practical measures, deadlines and responsible persons on bоth sides.
