Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, on 9 January 2022, the official opening of the grand opening of 21/22 winter season and the Amirsoy ice skating rink was held at Amirsoy Mountain Resort. The event was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
This event was held with the aim of popularizing winter sports, opening the winter ski season, identifying the strongest athletes, strengthening health and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population. It should be noted that tourism in the country is available all year round, regardless of the season.
Ski complex "Amirsoy" is one of the most popular destinations for those who go skiing or snowboarding. Tens of thousands of tourists come here every year.
One of the longest tracks, ALFA, gathered all riders from amateurs to professionals, where a massive descent took place to mark the start of the 21/22 winter season.
Ice skating rink "Amirsoy" is the first high-mountain ice skating rink in Uzbekistan with a total area of 70x41 m2.
Visitors to the resort will be able to take advantage of individual and group lessons as needed. All classes are conducted interactively under the supervision of professional instructors. Also, the skating rink provides a unique service - mesmerizing evening skating under the light of twinkling stars.
Alpine skiing in Uzbekistan is now developing quite successfully and the opening of this skating rink is always joyful and long-awaited - guests from all neighboring republics come to us to enjoy a rare entertainment for our warm regions. Bostanlyk district is a mountainous territory and we need to use these opportunities for tourism and sports, said the khokim of Bostanlyk district, Jurabek Akhmedov.
As part of the event, exciting programs and contests were held, where visitors plunged into the world of gastronomy with signature dishes and drinks from the country's top chefs and bartenders.
Currently, the second stage of the project to create a ski resort in Bostanlyk district that meets international standards is in the active phase. Within the framework of the West Amirsoy project, 4-star and 5-star hotels with 206 rooms, a 16.8 km ski slope, four restaurants for 2400 seats, a multi-storey car park for 500 cars with areas for offices and trade, additional points rental of ski and other equipment, swimming pools and special areas for active seasonal recreation are constructed.
