Tourist Village is being created in Konigil makhalla of Samarkand district.

The ongoing project was discussed with the Deputy Khokim of Samarkand region for Tourism Development B. Nurullayev and the Khokim of Samarkand district N. Mavlonov.

Konigil is considered a place where the traditions of manufacturing Samarkand paper, pottery and handicraft have been preserved. Tourists get acquainted here with the national traditions and values of our people. The paper making process and the work of Konigil potters are of great interest.

The infrastructure of the village is improving, the historical appearance of many structures in the village are being restored. The activity of house-hotels, restaurants have been established, pedestrian paths and places for rest will be organized around the Siab channel.

According to the residents of the village, there were more than 40 creameries around the Siab channel, which are also planned to be restored. In addition, pilgrimage, agronomy, industry and medicine will be developed in Konigil. Credits will be allocated for an exemplary streamlining of industries, crafts and entrepreneurial activities.

According to Samarkand Regional Department for Tourism Development, it is planned to complete the project in August.
