A presentation showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, particularly that of the historic city of Samarkand, was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Paris. The event was organized in collaboration with the travel company "Karavan travel"

The presentation attracted leaders from prominent French tourism companies, business circles, and media representatives. Ambassador of Uzbekistan to France, Nodir Ganiev, welcomed attendees on the occasion of Samarkand City Day and discussed the measures taken in recent years to develop the tourism sector in Uzbekistan, enhance its potential, contribute to the economy, diversify and improve service quality, and modernize tourism infrastructure.

Samarkand was described as the "pearl of the East", historically situated along the Great Silk Road. It served as the capital of the empire of the great commander Amir Timur. Under his grandson, Mirzo Ulugh Beg, the city became a center of scientific and cultural life in the East. Many of its medieval architectural monuments are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The importance of the ancient city in the development of humanity and its material and cultural heritage was also highlighted, accompanied by videos showcasing the region's tourism potential

Particularly noted was the "Eternal City" complex, inaugurated in 2022 in Samarkand on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan. This complex has quickly drawn the attention of both local and foreign tourists. It features 40 craft workshops where artisans demonstrate traditional wood carving, pottery, jewelry making, and carpet weaving.

The event also included a presentation of Uzbek national cuisine, with guests enjoying festive plov.

The presentation garnered considerable interest from attendees, with representatives of tourism companies and organizations sharing their impressions and plans for collaboration with Uzbekistan in the tourism sector.
