New flights for the convenience of tourists was the main topic of discussion that has taken place at the end of last year during a meeting of representatives of the National Company Uzbekistan Airways and travel firms - members of the Association of Private Travel Agents of Uzbekistan.
The meeting participants deliberated on flight schedules, tariffs and new seasonal destinations for 2018. In particular, the officials of Uzbekistan Airways told that they are working on the opening of direct international flights in 2018 along the routes Tashkent - Mumbai - Tashkent, Tashkent - Barcelona - Tashkent, Tashkent - Birmingham - Tashkent.
It was also about plans to increase the frequency of flights during the spring-summer navigation period 2018 along the routes Tashkent-Samarkand-Tashkent, Tashkent-Termez-Tashkent and Tashkent-Istanbul-Tashkent.
Representatives of travel companies were also informed that from January 1, 2018, Uzbekistan Airways introduced group tariffs for domestic flights. Thus, tour operators have the opportunity to significantly optimize prices for their services for both traveling Uzbeks and foreign tourists. This is a step to ensure that more tourists during their stay in Uzbekistan could visit the objects of a tourist show in several cities.
Officials of the National Air Company Uzbekiston Havo Yullari also presented new directions, launched under the Code Sharing cooperation. Code-sharing is an agreement on joint commercial operation of a flight by two or more airlines, one of which is an operator (that is, executes flights on this flight and sells tickets for these flights on its behalf), and the rest by marketing partners (that is, they sell tickets on the flight of the operator company on its own behalf). This innovation also helps to expand the geography of flights and create additional amenities for passengers and tour operators.
At the same time, representatives of the Association of Private Travel Agents of Uzbekistan suggested that the national air carrier expand the geography of flights and consider the possibility of opening direct international flights to Scandinavian countries, Benelux countries, Southeast Asian countries and Poland. Such flights will help accelerate the implementation of agreements that were reached by representatives of tourism companies in the framework of events on the presentation of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, held in 2017 in these countries.
