FAMOUS INDIAN DESIGNER APPOINTED CULTURAL TOURISM AMBASSADOR OF UZBEKISTAN TO INDIA

Renowned Indian fashion designer, founder of her own brand Ritu Beri has been appointed Cultural Tourism Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India. This was announced during Uzbek Music and Fashion Festival, held in Delhi.

Ritu Beri is a New Delhi based international fashion designer. She was the First Asian Designer to head a French fashion brand, Jean-Louis Scherrer, in March 2002. She launched the Luxury League a not-for-profit organisation, to promote creativity and innovation in the luxury industry of India. The world famous movie stars Nicole Kidman, Laetitia Casta, Madhuri Dixit and others wear outfits from Ritu Beri.

As reported by the Press Service of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at Uzbek Music and Fashion Festival in Delhi, Ritu Beri presented her collection, which she specially prepared for this event. The collection included traditional elements of Ikat.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to India Farkhod Arziyev officially announced the appointment of Ritu Beri as Cultural Tourism Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India, as well as presented an official certificate and a memorable gift on behalf of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development.

The festival participants got acquainted with the presented author collections of Uzbek designers, the founders of Mursak and Anoratelier fashion house. On the Indian side, great interest was shown in Uzbek national dresses and significant achievements in clothing design in Uzbekistan were noted.
