One of the most ancient cities of Uzbekistan, Samarkand, is ready to welcome travellers with its brand-new tourist centre Silk Road Samarkand.

In the Focus report, Euronews TV Channel invites people to get to know the new tourist hub closer and talk to those directly involved in its implementation.

The story of Galina Polonskaya from Samarkand on the most popular international Euronews channel with monthly coverage of 15.2 million viewers has already gotten a lot of views. As stated in the report, the Silk Road Samarkand features several modern hotels, a huge congress centre, and much more. A bridge that connects the future and the past brings us into the heart of Silk Road Samarkand: a modern interpretation of a medieval town, named the Eternal city. It was created by Uzbekistan’s craftsmen.

According to the Director General of the Silk Road Samarkand Management Company Artyom Yegikyan, this is a significant event, and we are happy that we can invite the whole world to visit Uzbekistan, to the amazing Samarkand. It is symbolic that the 30-second promo video and reportage were shown on the Independence Day of Uzbekistan. Now a booking system is being launched with available dates from the end of September.

Within the framework of Silk Road Samarkand, a completely new format of tourist products is being launched in the region. The first five-star hotels in Samarkand will open here, and a one-of-a-kind green park will be presented. Minyoun Hospitality Chinese Hotel chain has become one of the important key partners of Silk Road Samarkand.

Shortly, this large-scale project – a symbol of New Samarkand and new tourist opportunities in the region – is intended to become a modern attraction throughout Central Asia.
