Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan visits Samarkand

TASHKENT, February 4. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, a delegation led by Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Abdul Razak Dawood visited Samarkand, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov met with the delegation in Samarkand and exchanged views on further expansion of cooperation and its mutual prospects between the two countries.

The Pakistani delegation got acquainted with the investment attractiveness, tourism, medical and pharmaceutical potential of Samarkand.

The parties discussed the prospects for the development of air traffic, strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries, organizing a mutual exchange of experience in higher education institutions.

The guests were informed about the conditions created for foreign students studying at Samarkand State Medical Institute, in particular, 130 Pakistani students are currently studying here.

It was noted that soon 120 students and 10 professors from Pakistan will visit Samarkand. This testifies to the fact that relations between the two countries are progressively developing and entering a new stage.

The guests visited the grave of the great hadith scholar Imam Al-Bukhari and the International Research Center to get acquainted with his life and great spiritual heritage.

Delegation members noted that people in Pakistan have a great interest in Uzbekistan, in particular, in visiting shrines associated with the names of great thinkers. Almost every Pakistani dreams of this. Speaking about strengthening bilateral ties, the Pakistani guests noted that joint efforts to develop tourism and pilgrimage trips will yield good results.
