Tashkent hosted a meeting with the President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations

TASHKENT, March 3. /“Dunyo” IA/. The Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between the President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Vinay Prabhakar Sahasrabuddhe and Deputy Minister Kamola Akilova, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The parties noted the possibilities of enhancing collaboration in culture. Mr. Vinay Prabhakar Sahasrabuddhe expressed his intention to facilitate the participation of Uzbekistan delegation in international youth forums, festivals, competitions, scientific conferences, exhibitions and other joint events held in India.

The Indian side focused on the implementation of specific joint projects in the cultural-humanitarian sphere.

Issues and problems related to the preservation of cultural heritage, which is relevant for Uzbekistan, were also considered. The parties focused on the significant potential for joint initiatives for the preservation of cultural heritage and the implementation of joint educational and scientific-research projects with India in conservation, restoration and audit of cultural objects.

Following the meeting, Deputy Minister of Culture Kamola Akilova invited President Vinay Sahasrabuddhe to the International Cultural Forum “Central Asia at the Crossroads of World Civilizations” to be held in Khiva on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan.
